January 24, 2007 To Helen's family, It was with much sadness that I read in this morning's Globe and Mail of Helen's death. I worked in the provincial government with Helen from 1969 until 1971. In 1969 she had recently retired from Bell Canada and I had recently arrived from England. We fast became good friends though she did tell me that at first she was very wary of me.
