Dear Cathy We met your mom a number of times and she was a lovely, warm lady. The world will be a little bit less sunny without her smile. Nevertheless, I am sure she will be looking down on us and keeping us all in her care. You are in our thoughts and prayers even though the miles are many between us. Love always James, Sonoko and Clan in Japan.

Kathy, this is such a difficult time in your life - I have gone through this with both parents and you think you will never get through it. time helps heal the pain and the memory of the person, who they were and what they stood for will remain in your thoughts for a life time. Take care of yourself - hope to see you soon! Sue Ralph (Action Volunteers for Animals)

My Dear Kathy I a so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I met her only once, but she touched my heart and I liked her right away. She was indeed a very special person with very strong convictions. I know how close the two of you were. Her passing is a very big loss. May you and your dear ones continue to live in peace. Yours Rivka.

Jane and I are so sad at the passing of your mom. She always had a smile for whom ever she met. She had a very large heart in a small package. I hope the following gives you some comfort. You would know the secret of death. But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life? The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day cannot unveil the mystery of light. If you would indeed behold the spirit of death, open you heart wide unto the body of life. For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one. In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond; And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow you heart dreams of spring. Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity. Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd when he stands before the king whose hand is to be laid upon him in honour. Is the shepherd not joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark of the king? Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling? For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered? Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance. From: The Prophet By Kahlil Gibran
