Obituary of George Azar

AZAR, George James Passed away peacefully at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. at the age of 17 years. Beloved son of Randa and Elia. Loved brother of Nicholas. James was a loyal and wonderful young man who will be deeply missed by his many friends in the North Toronto community. He was an avid sports fan and athlete. While playing hockey at John Fisher Public School, James scored a goal at the Air Canada Centre in the city public school finals. At Glenview Senior Public School, he battled back from illness to earn a place on the basketball team. More then goals and baskets, however, his return this fall to Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute, his gentle spirit, quiet bravery and courageous example, was an inspiration to teachers and students. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, October 20th. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 21st at 10:30 a.m. in GREENWOOD GOSPEL CHAPEL, 949 Greenwood Avenue. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery.
