Obituary of Marie Allan

ALLAN, Marie Passed away peacefully and bravely on Friday, October 26th, 2007 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. Marie loved life and seized every opportunity to live it to its fullest…never hampered by her physical shortcomings. Marie was known for her generosity. She took such pleasure in giving "over and above" in every aspect of her life. Marie was also affectionately known as "Mim" by her immediate family and close friends, an endearment given to her many years ago by Pamela, a great niece, who considered Marie more of a Grandmother than an Aunt. Marie is survived by her brother, Arthur Stephen Allan of Toronto. She was also the sister of the late sister Tessie (Allan) Harakas and brother-in-law Jack Harakas of Detroit. Beloved niece of Vicki (Harakas) Burbulis and husband Jim of Oakville; nephew Steve Harakas of Brighton, Michigan; nephew Greg Harakas and wife Paige of Fowlerville, Michigan; great niece Pamela (Burbulis) Leibold and husband Rob of Milton; nephew Chris Burbulis of Burlington; nephew Nick Harakas and niece Alex Harakas of Livonia, Michigan; and niece Stephanie Harakas of Livonia, Michigan. The family of Marie Allan wishes to thank the staff at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre for their support and superior service. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, October 29. A Greek Orthodox Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30th in the chapel. Marie will be laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 375 Mount Pleasant Road.
