Obituary of Marjorie Jean Finlayson

MARJORIE JEAN FINLAYSON (n�e Winton) Died with dignity and tranquility on August 29, 2006 at The Claremont Retirement Residence, Toronto, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Reginald William (Bill) Finlayson. Mother of Fraser Sinclair and his wife Diane Roblin, Ian Edward (predeceased) and his wife Marlo Ann McLaughlin. Grandmother of William Campbell and Fraser McLaughlin. Sister of the late Helen Lossing. Marjorie was a woman of vitality, charm and spirit. She moved from Windsor to Toronto to work at CFRB, and met R.W. Finlayson after WWII. She and her adventurous husband Bill were avid world travelers. Marjorie was a discerning collector with a love of antiques and a passionate bridge player at the York Club and the B & R Club. Her cooking lessons and friendships with James Beard, Dionne Lucas and Etta Sawyer, and attending London�s Cordon Bleu Cooking School led her to organizing renowned chefs for Toronto�s Art Gallery of Ontario. She was the only female fishing member of the Caledon Mountain Trout Club. She loved flower arranging and was a 50 year member at the Garden Club of Toronto. Marjorie also volunteered at the Toronto Symphony Women�s Committee and Campbell House. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 11 o�clock in ROSEDALE UNITED CHURCH, 159 Roxborough Drive.
