JOAN DAVIDSON (n�e Ashton) Joan died peacefully on August 11, 2006, in Toronto, Ontario, thus ending a protracted period of suffering and struggle. Born Francis Joan, on July 8, 1929, daughter of Edmund (Ted) and Edith Ashton, Highgate, Ontario. Married E. Gordon Davidson, on September 13, 1952, Blenheim, Ontario. They were the parents of Lee, Kim and Jay and grandparents of Kirby, Lisa and Chili, the children of Kim and his wife, Gayle Wilmot. Joan graduated Grade 13 from Ridgetown High School and she received a B.A. in 1950 from the University of Western Ontario, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi fraternity, the drama club and year executive. An ardent traditional jazz fan and supporter, Joan belonged to several jazz clubs and was among the co-founders of The Grand International Ragtime-Jasstime Foundation. The family has said their private good-byes, cremation has taken place and future interment will be in Gosnell�s Cemetery, Highgate, Ontario
