Obituary of Anthony Taylor
Anthony John Taylor
1947-2006
It is with profound sadness that the family of Tony Taylor regretfully announces the passing of their dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and nephew on Monday, August 7, 2006, at the age of 59.
Tony lived his life with enthusiasm, creativity and determination. Whether it was quarterbacking his football team at Upper Canada College, teaching his elementary school students, planning the annual Gordon Bay Regatta, or visiting a new place in the world, he did it to the highest of personal standards and with the ultimate of spirit.
Caley, his wife and partner in life for more than 38 years, was his constant love, companion and friend. For the last 12 years during his battle with lymphoma, she became his guardian angeland now he is ours.
He loved children, taking special pride in his own and their own, Kari (Rob Beric and sons Anthony and Colin), Robin (Toby Schertzer and daughter Mackenzie), Kristy (Chad Davidson) and Ryan (Vanessa Fong).
Tonys life was full of fun, family, friends and animals. He held great pride in his Taylor/Webster family heritage. Tony will be missed by his brother and sisters, Howie, Ann, Sherry and Jane, as well as his uncle Russ.
He shared generously and received graciously. He loved to use his hands to build and create, leaving a legacy of buildings, furniture and toys. His respect of the past led him to search out and collect antiques and to support the heritage of Muskoka, the place where he was most at home. His love of the outdoors and the environment provided him with countless hours of enjoyment on the water and in the woods. His sense of humour and love of practical jokes has provided many often-told stories and fond memories and challenged many friends to attempt an even more clever revenge.
The example he has left for family and friends is one of love, enthusiasm, loyalty and determinationthat will live in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muskoka Heritage Foundation (www.muskokaheritage.org) or to a charity of your choice.
A private family service will be held immediately. Friends will be invited to a celebration of Tonys life in September at Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, 230 St. Clair Avenue West 416.925.5977
