Obituary of Aaron Robin Brock
Aaron Robin Brock
1974-2006
Passed away suddenly at his home on August 3, 2006 at 31 years of age, when his good heart failed without warning. Aaron will be profoundly missed by his loving wife Josephine Chan, his parents Robin and Margaret, brothers Nathan and his wife Ursula, Jason and his wife Karen, nephew Griffin, and by many other relatives and friends. Aaron was an accomplished classical guitarist, teacher at The Royal Conservatory of Music, and composer. He had just released his first CD, Toccata (Analekta) and was preparing for an upcoming concert schedule that was to include a performance with the Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra. He was a graduate of Arts York at Unionville High School, University of Toronto (B.Mus., M.Mus), and received his Doctorate of Musical Arts and Performers Certificate from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y. where he was the inaugural recipient of The Andres Segovia Award. His website, www.aaronbrock.com, is now a tribute to his many achievements. His goal was to create and share moving musical experiences toward the pursuit of happiness, and this he achieved. A private family service will be held. A public memorial to his wonderful life, cut tragically short, will be held at the ANGLICAN PARISH OF CHRIST CHURCH, 254 Sunset Blvd., Stouffville, Ontario (905-640-1461) at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 11. A reception will follow in the church. Donations in Aarons memory may be made to the Aaron Brock Trust, c/o the Brock Family, 53 Sherrick Drive, Gormley, Ontario L0H 1G0, to be used to create a scholarship or award in Aarons name.
