Obituary of Peter Teresko

TERESKO, Peter Samuel Passed away at North York General Hospital on Monday, July 24, 2006 in his 88th year. Peter is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Jean; daughters Karyn Ash of Toronto and Valerie Teresko of Vancouver; son-in-law David; and by his grandson, Jason, who admired him very much. Predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Mary Teresko of Brandon, Manitoba, and by his sisters: Helen Antonation, Jennie Hrushowy, and Olga Jones. Born in Brandon on April 20, 1918, Peter led a rich and rewarding life by any measure. Peter�s career with the Manufacturers Life Insurance Company began in Brandon in 1946. His knowledge of the business as a Chartered Life Underwriter and genuine concern for his clients allowed it to continue for an unparalleled sixty years. Peter was recognized as a five star master builder by his peers; the highest honour that his industry could bestow. Among his many talents, Peter was an accomplished violinist and performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under Sir Thomas Beecham while stationed in England with the Canadian Army during World War II. Peter�s devotion to his family was constant and unequalled. His presence will be missed always. Prayer service and reception will be held at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue, Toronto on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society.
