Ida Hanson

Obituary of Ida Hanson

HANSON, Ida After a long and full life, Ida died peacefully on 21 July at age 101. Although a proud Canadian, she never turned her back on her Yorkshire upbringing, which gave her the esprit to enjoy the good times and the gumption to overcome all the rough patches that attend such a life, including the death of her devoted husband Eddie. Her love, humour and interest in nature have deeply enriched the lives of her daughter, Dorothy, her sons, John and Hugh, their partners Barry, Claire and Marion, and her grandchildren Peter, Kirsten and Anna. She will be lovingly remembered by her great grandchildren Alexandra, Maude, Aidan and Julianna. We are all grateful for the care given her over her last decade by the splendid staff of the senior's residence at 4 Teddington Park Avenue. Anyone wanting to give a donation in Ida's memory might consider the Federation of Ontario Naturalists, of which she was an Honorary Life Member, and St. Timothy's Anglican Church, of which she was a member for nearly seventy years. Private family service.
