We have been searching for Doris for so many years. She was my maid of honour, and I considered her my best friend. We tried again to find her on boxing day, only to discover she was gone. It has been so many years since she was in our lives, but we are so very saddened to find that she is gone. I always hoped that I would find her again. Lynn Judge

Doris's college friends have been looking for her for over 10 years. Today, Boxing Day 2013, one of them found a reference to Doris in the obituary of one of her brothers. She immediately called the rest of the group of friends that were lucky enough to know her through college, and all were dumbstruck at the news of her demise in 2006. At this late date, seven years later, there is nothing to be done but try to express our grief at her exit from this world into the next: she was always a "one-of-a-kind", who had and has a strong impact on each of her friends' lives. Although none of us knew at the time and are sorry we therefore were unable to express our condolences then, each one of us carries a piece, a memory, a picture of Doris and what she meant to each of us in our hearts. We have and will think of often, and treasure and appreciate the time she shared with us.
