Obituary of Alan Galbraith Wingate

WINGATE, Alan Galbraith It is with great sadness the family of Alan Wingate announce his passing on July 1, 2006, at North York General Hospital, in his 91st year. Cherished uncle of Gwendolyn McDougall (Andy), Tom and Jim Robinson, Craig, Kevin and Kristin McDougall. Dear cousin of Alan and Louise Redway. Predeceased by his parents Ernest and Margaret (Bogue) Wingate, brother George and sister-in-law Eleanor (McGilliguddy) Wingate. A W.W.II veteran and an accomplished pilot and artist. He was employed with DeHavilland, Avro and Orenda. Past President of the Oshawa Flying Club. A member of the Arts and Letters Club and the Canadian Aviation Historical Society where he wrote many articles for the magazine. Alan will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 9.30 - 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11 o�clock. Interment Mount Pleasant. Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
