Obituary of William Alfred Reid

REID, William Alfred Passed away peacefully, with family around him, in Sunnybrook Veteran�s Hospital on June 8, 2006, in his 94th year. Cherished husband of Blanche for 65 years. Adored father of Sandy Moore and her husband Peter, and Chris Dyer and her husband Tom. Much loved and enjoyed grandfather of Rob Moore (Molly), Sara Moore (Michael), Casey Moore (Jason), Buffy Moore (Craig) and Bill Dyer. Great-grandfather of Otis, Henry, Grace and Sam. Employee for over 40 years at Imperial Oil Ltd. (in Sarnia, Winnipeg, Montreal and Toronto) where he was respected and admired. Active member for many happy years with his wife Blanche and good friends at the Richmond Hill Curling Club. All who knew Bill will greatly miss his kindness, his sense of humour and his genuine caring, and we feel blessed to have had him in our lives. The family�s heartfelt thanks are extended to the Sunnybrook staff, especially those on LSSW who cared so lovingly for Bill during the past two years, and who always responded to what they called "that wonderful smile.� The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 7-9 p.m. on Monday. Service in the chapel on Tuesday at one o�clock. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sunnybrook Veteran�s Comfort Fund, 2075 Bayview Avenue, Toronto M4N 3M5 will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
