Obituary of Themla Alice Suggitt
THELMA A. SUGGITT (ne Bentley)
July 16, 1916 - August 13, 2006
Left us quietly in her sleep shortly after her 90th birthday. Gracious and dignified to the end, Thelma struggled with a cancerous tumor without fear.
Thelma follows husband Richard Ross Suggitt to St. Johns Norway, where they were married 60 years ago.
Thelmas first husband, Kenneth Frank Whitehouse, died in service for the RCAF in 1944. Her marriage to Ken produced a son, Ken Whitehouse, who died in 1975.
She is survived by son Richard, daughter-in-law Sarah and grandchildren Emily and Katie, who all love her dearly.
The eldest sister of a very large family, Thelma leaves brother Russell and sister Doreen and, among others, nephews Kevin and Christopher and niece Karen-Ann.
Sarah and Richard would like to thank all of those who gave help and support at the Toronto General Hospital Oncology Ward and the Princess Margaret Brain Tumour Clinic. We also would like to recognize the unfailing and tremendous love and care given by Lynn, Natalie, Arlene and all the staff at the Claremont Retirement Residence.
Sarah and Richard will host a private gathering in September to celebrate Thelma's Life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation
