Michela was a very special person to me. I always enjoyed time spent in conversation with her -- either at an AWCT function, or over the phone with a cup of tea. She had such a zest for life! She delighted in talking about her family, and her heritage. I will always treasure the times I spent with her. My condolences to her family at this very sad time!

Michela was one of the first people I met when I joined the AWCT, and welcomed me warmly. Whenever we met at the club she made me feel like a long lost friend. We always enjoyed that fact that our husbands were both from Europe, German speaking, and were in a similar line of business in Canada. Michela was very brave, and never complained about her illness. My sympathy to her family, and I'm sad she is not here with us now.

I was really saddened to learn of Michela's passing when I returned home. I wish I could have attended her memorial to celebrate her American/Italian roots which I share. Her pride in those and her dignity were very special. She will be missed at AWCT, but not forgotten.

Dear Eric, Raymond, our daughters Marie and Camille and I wish to present our condolences at this sad occasion. Michela was part of our life on many occasions and we will always remember her vivacity, her zest for life and curiosity about everything. Michela phoned me last Thursday at my office and we chatted for a good half hour, about her youth mostly, and I had no inkling that things were not OK. She said she had cancer but that she had no pain and went on about how being a Sicilian she could whistand anything! And about how much she loved you. Raymond is in Switzerland at the moment but he wants me to say that as soon as he is back he will call you and arrange a meeting. Again, our thoughts are with you. Daniele

When I lived in Toronto Michela and I worked on many projects for the AWC. She had an indomitable spirit and we shared many conversations together. She was very proud of her Sicilian heritage and was tickled at herself for having married a Swiss. Michela will be sorely missed.

Just thinking about Michela makes me smile . . . I remember her vitality, her humor, her kindness -- and her wonderful stories that made me feel as if I were there with her. Just as I would pick her up for our AWC meetings, she now waits to pick me up, and I suspect she will have some interesting tales to tell me! I feel blessed to count her among my Toronto memories, and I will always keep her in my heart and prayers.

Over the years, Michela and I shared lots of stories, good times, and many phone calls. We always enjoyed seeing each other at the AWCT meetings. She often spoke to me about how much she liked my mother and shared conversations which the two of them had at different AWCT functions. I will miss Michela but will never forget her. Roseanne Myers

Michela was my friend and I will miss her. I enjoyed picking her up and going to the American Women's Club of Toronto meetings. We talked the whole way there and always had a laugh or two. She enjoyed the club so much and I know it was an important part of her life. She will truly be missed by all.

Michela was a wonderful member of our American Wonen's Club of Toronto for 30 years. I remember her as dignified, gracious, and always with a pleasant smile. She spoke about her heritage, her life in New York City, her pride in her Swiss husband, and the love she had for her daughter. This was a woman of greatness and she will be truly missed. May her soul rest in peace. With sympathyy, Mary Lou Laramee, Past President of the American Women's Club of Toronto
