Obituary of Jean Gowans Moore

MOORE, Jean Gowans (nee Brown) Passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2006, surrounded by family. Beloved wife for 57 years of Ronald Moore, cherished mother of Karen, David, Bob (pre-deceased) and Barbara, treasured mother-in-law of Anne and Miles, and adored grandmother of John Paul and Melissa Moore, Brennan, Garrett and Harrison Moore and Alistair and Caroline Glidden. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews as well as brothers and sisters in the United States and elsewhere. Jean was actively involved in the musical scene in Toronto, having been a long-time member of the Canadian Opera Company and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, as well as a church soloist at Rosedale United Church and the Church of the Messiah, among others. An avid camper and canoe tripper at Taylor Statten Camps and elsewhere, Jean was a microbiological photographer at The Banting Institute and The Ontario Research Foundation. She is a past President of the St. Clement�s School Alumni Association. A memorial service to celebrate Jean�s life will be held in June at St. John�s Anglican Church, York Mills. The service date will be posted under "Online Condolences� at www.humphreymiles.com by May 22nd .
