I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the Stavro family. My great-grandfather (Traiko Christoff) and great grand-mother (Alexandra Ivanoff) were also from Gabresh. My grandfather George and uncle John told me many stories about Mr. Stavro and what a great man he was. My uncle John tells me he and Mr. Stavro played hockey together as young boys. I went to Gabresh seven years ago to see for myself where we came from and what we left. When locals discovered I was from Canada, they immediatley asked if I knew Mr. Stavro. I wanted to contact you to let you know that I am one of the many people Mr. Stavro touched. I hope this difficult time is tempered with the pleasant reflections of what he meant to people across Canada and around the world. If for whatever reason you wish to see the pictures I took of the village, it would be my honour to send them to you.
