Obituary of Lyla Ada Crossley

CROSSLEY, Lyla Ada (nee Salter) Passed away peacefully in Toronto on Thursday, March 30, 2006 in her 97th year. She lived with style, courage and a profound respect for people and for learning, in keeping with her career as an elementary school teacher in Toronto from 1928 to 1967. She was the beloved wife of the late Fred Crossley and is survived by her two nephews, Jay and Scott Deyman; her niece, Judy Carey and her husband Lee and great-nephew Colby. Lyla requested that a statement of her appreciation be expressed to her friends near and far, the people of Rosedale United Church and her wonderful caregivers at Briar Crest Retirement Home for their years of care and support. Friends will be received at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, April 3rd. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 4th at 11 o�clock in ROSEDALE UNITED CHURCH, 159 Roxborough Drive. Reception to follow. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations in Lyla�s memory to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
