Dear Pat and family, I was saddened to read of Bob's passing. I have a great many wonderful memories of Bub during my ten years at NT. He was one of those teachers who was able to combine his affection and respect for students with a deep love of music. And he possessed the skill and talent to bring those two features together. Everybody who spent even a brief time down the music hallway at NT knew immediately that this was a place where memories were made.Bob made a difference, and there can be no greater compliment a teacher can get... And he did it with a great sense of humour. I will miss him. Eric Skeoch

Bob was one of the most encouraging influences in my life.Without him I'd still be in high school. He said "He wants to be a musician, let him be a musician". He was inspirational.

Bob Krueger played a pivotal role in my choice to spend a life and career in music education and music making. I can't possibly capture here all of the great memories of music in my days at NTCI, but among them are strategically timed pauses while marching on the field, to turn and practice "about face" at the nearby apartments and morning "complainers", dressing up for Stage band concerts, sitting in the Bob's basement - soaked through from the Santa Claus parade watching our performance and drinking hot chocolate, the Cleveland trip..many great performances at Kiwanis festivals, and on and on. So glad we had the chance to work together one last time this past May!! Thank you for all you brought into my life!

Mr. Krueger was a simply wonderful teacher, we were all so fortunate to have had him at NTCI. He balanced fun and discipline so perfectly with the students - and nobody was above the law. Who remembers Mr.K kicking Scott out of band practice one night for horsing around! The tough exterior melted away easily in the presence of properly played music, good marching (not sure that ever happened) or some good old fashioned fun...
So many are grateful for his contributions and influence, myself included.

Dear Pat, Rob and I were so glad to be with you today at the service, and despite the reason, it was great to see you, and your lovely family. I am sorry I never had an opportunity to meet Bob, but you clearly had a happy and fun-filled life together. Please send me an email where I might be able to reach you, and I will relay it forward to my Dad, Hugh Church. He told me tonight, he would have mad sure to be there ahead of everyone else, if not so far away. Our heartfelt love and sympathy goes out to you, Rob, Scott and their families. It's pretty hard to get through, but you have lots of support. Hope you have some time to recover, and perhaps we can plan to see you at Christmas, when my Dad will be with us.

Having recently seen Mr.Krueger conduct at Roy Thompson Hall for North Toronto's 100th Anniversary the news of hos death came as a shock to me. Mr. Krueger came ti North Toronto im my graduating year. I was not taking music that year but did play in the Concert and Marching Bands. After all these years my favourite memory of Mr. Krueger is that when I had a spare I often went down to the Music Room. I didn't practice but he would have me do some work in a file labelled "T42". (Hoping this has meaning to the family.) My sincere condolences to his wife Patricia their two sons and families. Patricia Cutts nee Marshall class of 1970.

Although I was a string player at NTCI (back in the '70s), I often witnessed Bob in action and admired his focus and presence amidst all the noise/music. I know what a great influence he was on various students, many of whom have gone on to become professional musicians, some in other parts of the world, or else were just touched deeply by his ability to listen, respond, and savour life. I'm so sorry I can't attend the service on Mon but I send condolences to Pat and all the family.

Dear Patricia, I was very saddened to learn of Bob's death this morning. My sincere condolences for this loss to you and your family. My time at NTCI ('80-'85) was profoundly influenced by Bob. From knocking heads with him to the privilege of Wed night Stage Band rehearsals, he was an inspiring leader. MANY laughs, a few fights and a deep respect. He always told me "you only get so many notes to play, don't waste them!" I'm sad he's played his last, but the notes he has inspired will play on brightly. Doug Langmuir

My sincere condolences to Pat, Rob, Scott, their spouses and the grandkids. Bob was the reason I attended NT to study music under him after meeting him previously at Toronto Music Camp a couple of years previous. That seems long ago now but I remember it vividly today. He was the best; great teacher, great mentor, and friend. He had a profound imapct on my life as he did many others. I am deeply saddened by his passing. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend Monday but will certainly raise a glass in his honour all the same. So long Bob, gone but unlikely to ever be forgotten.

It didn't matter if he was wearing his full dress ruffles for Maytime Melodies or his Sombrero for Stage Band concerts, he was one of a kind. His abilities to bring out the best in us both musically and personally was unmatched. His ability to make us laugh as he forged the stage during the student conductor moments playing Timps, a Dr. Seuss type horn or Clarinet, he made his statement only the way he could. Krug, you helped us shape our lives and our hearts. You live in all of us forever. Thank you for being you.
Love Cori & Eddie.

I studied with Mr. Krueger for 5 years at NTCI ~ Marching Band, Maytime Melodies, Toronto Music Camp, the whole shebang. He was an incredible teacher and musician, and influenced me to continue studying music after high school. I am now a music teacher in Toronto, and continue to use some of his practices in my classroom. He will be sadly missed, but his legacy will live on in music classrooms and concert halls around the world. ~ Jody Becker, B.Mus., B.Ed. (NTCI '95) PS - When Mr. Krueger retired, I wrote a poem. It is no wonder I have followed in his footsteps... The Conductor Come join us on the other side In the cool shadows of amazement, To hear the music for the first time In thirty years. You With your steel wings Lifted us to dynamic heights Of glory In sound and in spirit. Sit in your place And applaud your inventions With the same pride and love As we, who applaud you. Come join us; Sit amongst your friends. In time we may appear as equals, But high on your podium you will forever rise above us. JCB

Mr Krueger's sense of humour, caring and warm nature were amazing qualities in a highschool teacher. He was a wonderful man and I enjoyed all of my time with Mr Krueger. You will be missed!
