Dear Ruth You probably don't remember me but we were introduced several years ago at a TEI function in Ottawa by Paul when I was part of a government presentation panel. Subsequent to that time I had many close dealings with Paul when I worked with Revenue Canada (in Toronto) and continued my close relationship with him when I left the government and entered public accounting (first with Arthur Andersen and later with Deloitte and Touche). I always enjoyed Paul's company and we generally had lunch once or twice a year - we had our latest lunch last spring where he told me of his plans for retirement. I am very sad to hear of his passing; I was out of the country on vacation with my family and just heard today. I am very sorry I was not able to attend the funeral. Please accept my sincere condolences. Paul was a very good friend and a respected colleague - I will miss him very much.
