My heartfelt sympathy to the family of Mr. Justice Potts - I was always pleased to have my matters on His Honour's list. Justice Potts was well reasoned in his approach to cases, respectful to counsel and clients, and mindful of the human elements involved in disputes between parties. He was a gentleman of the old legal school and I was grateful, particularly as junior counsel, for his courtesy and good humour. He will be missed. E. Llana Nakonechny Dickson MacGregor Appell LLP

What an incredible man...without even trying I can hear his voice, see his smile and hear his laugh as he tells story upon story about how he corted his beloved Dawn. I raise my glass to you Dawn for your grace, your patience and your quick wit which matched Joes every time. Diana....how lucky your father is to have you, your compassion, your humour and your love. As he passes on, before my very eyes I see the Potts clan evolve sharing their strengths, memories and love with all that are present and forever to come. My last meeting with Joe happened at Grossmans not to many months ago and as our family was leaving and we had said our goodbys Joe grabbed my hand as I passed by pulled me up to his chair and rumbles "Gimme a kiss, plant one right here" as he draws his finger directly and exactly to his lips! So much love to the whole Potts Family Lisa and Jan

To Dawn, Joe Jr., Roberta, Arthur, Richard, Diana, and Gord - I was so sorry to learn, today, of J.H.'s passing. Words simply don't do justice ... he was loved by many, and will be missed by all. I had the pleasant surprise of seeing J.H. this past Christmas Eve (2005), when Arthur brought him over to visit at Doug & Bev's apartment. Grace and Bill were there, as was my family (me, my mother, Aggie, and my sister, Mary). While the effects of his illness were undeniable, I was tickled to see that J.H. was just as full of that devilish charm and fun as he ever was. I will always remember him with a smile, in his red Santa hat with the pom-pom bobbing, slightly askew, fairly bursting with twinkle and laughter like he hadn't a care in the world. His passing leaves a great void. My heart goes out to all of you. Sincerely, Heather Simpson (idhac649@yahoo.com) 290 Parkwood Avenue Keswick, Ontario L4P 2X3

I was so sorry to hear about Joe's passing. I remember him during his old 48th Highlander days in the early 1960's. A particular highlight was his rendering of an "Ode" which involved bringing a cow up to the Officers' Mess at Univertity Avenue Armouries for a milk supply to go with scotch for the ulcer of the then Commanding Officer Hamish Macintosh. I later saw him again sometime in the early eighties at a Police Dinner at the Military Institute in Toronto that I attended with my late Brother Jim. My wife Joan and I send our sincerest condolances. Tom & Joan Carnegie 14350 Chadbourne Drive Houston, Texas 77079-6600
