I am so sorry to have just heard of Rodger's passing. I felt priveleged to have known him well - if but for just a couple of years. Rodger was professional, but above all was kind, helpful and very, very understanding. He never pre-judged any situation but always listened and discussed options rather than quote company policy. He will truly be missed. Wendell Wagner

Glenda and family, my condolences to you on the tragic loss of Rodger. Rodger epitomized professionalism and class in everything he did. While we worked together on and off over the years at IBM, I got to know Rodger much better after retirement. He was a solid, caring, family focused person and always enjoyable to be with. He will be sadly missed.

Dear Thelma, Laurel, Glenda and family, You may barely recall that our family lived up the street at 18 St. Cuthberts Road many years ago, and Roger and I were at Rolph Road School together. I was saddened to see the news of Roger's passing, and I hope his last times were peaceful. My wife passed away of cancer four years ago,and through time it is possible to cope. Our families are never far from us, just over our shoulder it seems sometimes. I understand how difficult it can be at Christmas, as my father also died at this time of year. I wish you all the comfort at this time. Sincerely, Tom Gunn

My Dear Glenda, Steven & Wendy: Paul Colman relayed the devastating news of Rodger's passing to me on Thursday. I am still trying to make some sense of this untimely loss. My heart goes out to you all and I offer to each of you my sincerest sympathies. I met Rodger in December, 1986 on the very first day I joined Paul's group at IBM Canada on an exchange assignment from the Government of Canada. Rodger gave me a strong start on the Special Bids team as my linemate, trainer, and coach. That I was able to fit in and contribute so quickly to the team's work and the IBM way was very much attributable to Rodger. To my lasting benefit, he also became a fine friend and a wonderful golfing and dining buddy. So much of the very positive experience I gained from my years at IBM I owe to Rodger. He will always for me personify the art of being a generous, sharing and caring person. A true gentleman, a compleat professional, and a fine example for the rest of us mere mortals to emulate. My prayer for you, Glenda, and for your children, is that the time will quickly come when your deep sense of loss will give way to the unbounded happiness of recalling the many magnificent moments of your lives and laughter together with Rodger. May these sweet memories sustain and strengthen you until once again you are with him in God's amazing grace. Meanwhile, my fervent hope for Rodger is that he is able to make full use of God's glorious golf course in Heaven to tune up his game. For he and I still have many more rounds to play - with your blessing of course! Fondest regards, Gerry

Dear Glenda, We were both devastated and deeply saddened by hearing of Rodger's death. Although we were aware of the illness that had struck him a while ago, we both assumed that he was on the mend and that we would be seeing you both at the cottage and Rodger at the golf course. I, Ed, personally feel badly that there was not an opportunity to see him and to communicate the friendship and high regard that I have had for him ever since we first met in Lawrence Park. Rodger was a great guy. Friendly, tolerant, good natured and always able to do stuff, fix things and get things done. He was a good friend, who I held in very high regard. He always seemed to love life, and it is sad that he was unable to have the tiime to do the many things that he enjoyed.. We pass our condolences to you, Glenda, and to Steven and Wendy and hope that time will bring healing.

Glenda, my wife Rose and I send our deepest sympathy to you and your family at this heartbreaking time. I was fortunate to work with Rodger for many years at IBM in the government sector contracts area. Rodger was a great help to me and many of the other business managers. Rodger was always there when you needed him and his sound advice was always welcome. He will be sadly missed. We had a chance to meet with you and Rodger at the IBM function in Cancun some years ago. We were heading home, and you had just arrived. May God give you and your family, strength and inner peace, in this time of sorrow. Our hearts and thoughts go out to you God bless. John and Rose Beveridge

I worked with Rodger at IBM. To me he epitomized the concept of a gentleman. His diligence at IBM always impressed me, and he never wavered from trying to do the best for the company which included helping others whenever possible. I respected him greatly, and considered him a friend, and I am saddened by our loss. Please accept my condolences.

Dear Glenda, Steven and Wendy, Larry and I were very shocked and saddend to learn of Rodgers death. We were not aware that he had been ill. We know that you will miss him very much and it is particularly difficult at this time of year. We will see you on Saturday, but want you to know that we are thinking of you all. We did not know Rodger really well, but I always enjoyed chatting with him when he was out walking the dog or doing the leaves in the Fall. Also Larry fondly remembers playing golf with him and Dave Dunkin a few years back. We all lead such busy lives but when these things happen it is reason to slow down the pace. Life is precious and the gift of him to you all is too great to be measured. May you find some comfort in knowing that your neighbours care and we will keep you all in our prayers at this difficult time. Judy and Larry
