Obituary of Olga Beatriz Martinez

MARTINEZ, Olga At home on December 10, 2005 with her beloved husband Sterling Smith at her side. Born in Guatemala City, in her early years Olga relied on the kindness of her extended family (which she never forgot) until a scholarship to Cornell University in New York set her life on a new course. Nine years later, a doctorate earned and many good friends made, Olga went to teach at Universit� du Moncton, then at the University of Guelph, and finally to a fulfilling position at Janssen Ortho. Olga will be sadly missed by her sister Ana Maria, by her dear nephew Fernando and precious grandniece Sofia. She will also be missed by her extended family: Deify, Victoria, ChiChi, Rodolfo, Gustavo, Regina and Myra; as well as by Henry, Nelson and Janet, Kevin and Carol; by nieces Lauren, Katherine, Julia and nephew Trevor. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME , 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), 7-9 p.m. Thursday, December 15th. A Memorial Service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. If desired, please make donations in lieu of flowers to the charity of your choice.
