My deepset sympathies for your loss. I could hardly believe it when I was told by the staff of the Stratford Long & McQuade that Newton had passed away. I was in shock. I worked with Newton at the Bloor and Spadina store in the early 80's and I have never forgotten him. His warmth, his gentle way. I would see him every now and then when I went to the Toronto store. I'm only sorry that I didn't see him more often as I always felt that I was in the presence of a special human being and came away from any encounter with him, in a better frame of mind. I know that he will be deeply missed by yourselves and, despite the infrequent contact, he will be missed by me as well. My love to you all, Michael Kelly Kitchener

I am so sorry to hear of Newton's passing. Although I did not know him well he always had a bright smile whenever I spoke with him. It was a treat to see him on stage playing keyboards at the MIAC show. My sympathies to all of Newton's family.
