Obituary of Frederick Henry Wong
Wong, Frederick Henry
With great sadness the family announces the passing of Fred on Sunday, October 30, 2005 in his 76th year. Beloved and devoted husband and friend of 50 years to his wife Barbara. Loving and cherished father and best buddy of son, Gregory and daughter Andrea. We will miss his love, friendly guidance and indomitable spirit and treasure all the beautiful memories of our lives together. He was selfless in support of his family. His motto in life "to thine own self be true governed his life decisions, always being fair and giving the other person the benefit of the doubt. We will always find ways to embrace his life in our every day. Fred will be remembered by all who knew him as a consummate gentleman, a man of integrity, a true and noble friend. A fishing, hunting and car enthusiast, his happiest moments were when catching fish accompanied by either his son or daughter, discussing the latest trends in cars with Gregory and recounting his past duck, deer and moose hunting trips with his dear departed friend Austin McCue. Another passion was planning and working in his garden to make a place of beauty to enjoy with his family. Survived by sister Helen Lee (Edward) and brother James (Mae). Loved and loving son-in-law of Margaret Lum. Brother-in-law of Robert Lum (Dorothy) and Doreen Wong (Stan). Uncle to three nieces and four nephews. He will be missed especially by nephew David Lum with whom Uncle Fred had many car talkathons. Predeceased by his father and mother, Henry and Nellie Wong and brother Douglas Gordon (the late Joan). At Freds request, a private family celebration of his life was held on Friday, November 4, 2005. Cremation. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, 596 Davis Drive, Newmarket, L3Y 2P9 or a charity of your choice and would be appreciated by the family.
