Only learned of Eddie's passing recently and was saddened to hear this. Eddie was a friend and classmate at St Anselm's in Leaside, a fellow altar boy at St Anselm's, a schoolmate at St Mike's high school, a great hockey goalie on teams that we played on together, winning championships in Ontario and Toronto-over 4 years on hockey teams together. His teammates called him Steady Eddie as he was a reliable, consistently effective goalie. He was fun and had a good sense of humour. He was a good guy and I'm sad to learn of his passing.

Debbie, I cannot tell you how sorry I am that you have lost Ed at such a young age. I really did not know him very well but I can say that over the years whenever we would work together in any capacity, he was always so helpful, kind and of course, very, very funny. I know that he must have touched many people that he worked with in that way as I sensed that was just the kind of guy he was. My deepest sympathies to you, your family and to Ripley too. I remember when my father passed away ( at 31 years old), our dog, Buttons pined for quite awhile for him but eventually due to the love of the small town we lived in, he rallied....I am sure Ripley will be the same. He will probably be a great comfort to you right now. Take care.

Debbie, I was saddened to learn of Ed's sudden passing. I remember him and his deep voice and friendly ways. I also remember running into the two of you years ago having breakfast on O'Connor Drive. The restaurant has changed. My heart goes out to you Debbie and your family. I know from experience what you may be feeling and will feel as I lost my husband Savas tragically in September 1999. As many people said to me, take courage, pray for strength to see you through the pain. I wish you that strength and hope you will have all the support you need from your family and friends. My sincere condolences. If you wish to chat online, please do or if you are in the city and would ever like to meet over a coffee, I'm available. I hope you will be okay and trust you will. Sincerely, Julie 416 7010743

Although it has been a good number of years since I last saw Ed, I have the fondest memories of him. I knew him well during our high school years at St. Michael's in Toronto. We laughed a lot, played some hockey and some golf and even convinced ourselves that we could make our mark in the world of 1960s rock music! Ed was a great companion, and even when his world was not unfolding as he thought it should, he shrugged it off and moved on with his life. Being a teen-ager in the 1960s was not always fun, but I am glad that I knew Ed when I did -- he knew how to laugh, he was always loyal, he lived life to the fullest. Ed had countless friends, I am glad to count myself amongst that number. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies to family and friends. Even with a good number of years between us, I feel the loss of my old friend Ed. Glenn Wright Ottawa, Ontario
