Dear Manchee family: we owe you such a debt of gratitude for all your kind assistance to us when we first started our business in Canada in 1986. We recount the mutually beneficial work we did to promote your "saddle" line of leather, and then the growth our company experienced while residing in your beautiful school house from 1991-1998. We are thankful to have gained insight through Charlie's business wisdom, which was generally peppered with humourous recountings from his own experiences. We were so sorry to hear of his illness, and of course shocked to read of his passing. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. On behalf of the Schleese family and everyone at Schleese who was with us in Stouffville.

Dear Manchee Clan: The wonderful (abbreviated!) story of your dad's life highlighted how much larger than life he was. I remember with affection and admiration his presence, kindness, and awesome force of personality. Knowing him when growing up was a privilege. Thanks to Fred jumping into the kennel at Spinneybeck, your dad's love of labradors has been happily part of my life through the years. And for that too, I am very grateful. My thoughts and sympathy are with you all. Yours, Elizabeth

I still recall from 40 years ago how very proud Mike and Phil were of Charlie. Even then they knew how very proud Charlie was of them. Charlie knew the secret of a long and happy life: "Fill what's empty, empty what's full and scratch where it itches." Charlie lives on in who you are and how you live life. My very best wishes at a difficult time for you, all who know and love you and for all who knew and loved Charlie Hugh MacKenzie

Dear Mrs. Manchee, Philip, Susan, Stephen, Jane & families: I hope you remember this voice from the past. I was so sorry to read of Mr. Manchee's passing. I have so often wondered how he and all of you were doing, I am so pleased to read that he continued to be so active in life activies and reach a wonderful age. It was nice to read about his life, the times before I knew him and so much after. It's hard to believe it has been 30 years since I worked at Spinneybeck. It was such a great atmosphere for a "country girl" to get her start into the business world. I realize what a terrible time this is for you all and unfortunately the months ahead will have there ups and downs. I lost my dad two years ago August in his 89th year and it is very difficult, but, it does help to comfort knowing they had a long and productive life. I hope good memories will comfort you now and it will help to know that I keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless and comfort you during this time and throughout the times ahead. Remembering you all with much fondness & love, Marilyn (Sheridan) Bryson
