James Heather

Obituary of James Thomas Heather

HEATHER, James T. At Toronto, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, James T. Heather, age 73, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2005 with his family by his side. Born in Newry, County Down, Ireland and brought up in London, England, James made his way to Canada in 1956 where he began to ply his trade as an industrial relations consultant for the Central Ontario Industrial Relations Institute. Upon retiring, James took delight in the simple life that included summers up north at the cottage on Lake Simcoe and winters down south in Naples, Florida. Friends and family will remember James as a loyal confidant who would martyr himself to anyones worthy cause. A loving husband to Margaret, dutiful father to Suzy and James Jr., affectionate in-law to Patrick, admiring grandfather to Michael, dear brother to Elizabeth and Patricia, both of England, and steadfast pal to Piper. We would like to express our eternal gratitude to the entire team at the Toronto General Hospital MSICU for their kind attention, sensitivity and professionalism that went above and beyond anything we had expected. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 1 at 1:30 p.m. in HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, 354 St. Clair Avenue West. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, 610 University Avenue, Toronto M5G 2M9 would be appreciated.
