I fondly remember having afternoon tea at "Aunt" Norah's. She wasn't really an aunt, but a very good friend of the Burnham family. My mother's family moved out to Edmonton where she was born in 1915. Later they returned to Ontario and lived in Toronto. I clearly remember a Christmas dinner at her home with my family (Jack and Helen Orgill nee Burnham + my sister Elizabeth and myself) and my uncle (Harold and his wife Dorothy "Dot" Burnham). She sent a lovely teddy bear to our son when he was born in 1973.
After we moved to Peterborough in 1988, we were in touch with her. She had some old photographs from this area which she later donated to the Peterborough Museum and Archives. Unfortunately we lost touch with her when her Christmas cards no longer arrived a few years ago. She will always be remembered as a gentle caring friend.

Please accept our sincerest condolences on the death of Norah Clarry from our family. Our father, Arthur Ward, was Chair of the Branch Buying Committee at Simpson's, and I know that he had the highest regard for Miss Clarry. My memory is that she was excellent and punctilious in her work. We may have met her when our mother took us to visit the office. We certainly remember the very high esteem in which he held her, and he would want us to convey his sincere sympathy to the family were he alive today.
