PARKER, Harold Edgar 'Hal'
At Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Veteran's Centre - K-Wing on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the age of 94. Survived by his wife Wendy (nee Broome), his sons Grant (Elena) and Kevin (Jane), his grandchildren Elsa, Emily (Chris), Damian and Jessica, his great-grandson Parker, his sister Mildred (Keith), his sister-in-law Eva and his daughter-in-law Hilka. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents George and Annie Parker, his brothers Allan and Stanley and his sister Margaret. Hal was born with a great natural gift for art - from his early teens, he was already producing prize-winning artwork and illustrations. His working years started at the T. Eaton Company, as an illustrator, while he also did freelance packaging design. After returning from wartime service as an RCAF Radar Operator on the West Coast, he joined Imperial Oil. At Imperial, Hal's ability was quickly recognized and he was appointed Corporate Art Director, a position he held for almost his entire 35 year career. In this capacity, he was known by his colleagues and peers for directing and producing creative work of the highest caliber, receiving industry recognition and awards. The Funeral Service for Hal will be held in the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Saturday, August 25 at 11:00 a.m. Flowers are gratefully declined.
