Obituary of Donald Frederick Burnside

BURNSIDE, Frederick Burnside Suddenly at York Central Hospital after a brief illness on Wednesday, April 27 in his 76th year. Predeceased by his brother Harold, his mother Sadie and father John Francis Burnside of Madoc, Ontario. Sadly missed by his cousins Katherine Fleming, Douglas Burnside, David Burnside and Ted Burnside. A bachelor all his life, Don loved and was loved by his large "adopted� family from Toronto: the Bugeja, Neubauer and Gauci families. "Uncle Don� will be particularly missed by Kathy and Leo Bugeja and their sons David and Michael. A former dairy farmer form Madoc, Ontario, Don quickly adapted his skills in Toronto to become a professional gardener, earning the respect of his large clientele and the recognition of his peers, through several prestigious gardening awards. Always humble, Don kept his accomplishments to himself, including the fact that he won the Richmond Hill Community Blooms award several years running. His true passions were gardening and the Toronto Maple Leafs. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East) for a funeral service in the chapel on Tuesday, May 3 at 11 o�clock. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
