Obituary of James Douglas Beattie
BEATTIE, James Douglas
Passed away peacefully, in his sleep at Sunnybrook & Women�s Health Sciences Centre, Toronto, on Wednesday, January 12, 2005, in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Audrey Beattie and the late Mary Beattie, mother of Doug, David, and Kevin. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jodey, Rhonda, Karen, Christopher, Kirsten, William, Emma and Sarah, great-grandchildren Zachary and Quintin, and the O�Bright clan. Jim grew up in New Liskeard with sisters Catherine, Mary and Doreen and brother Henry. After serving in the Royal Canadian Navy during WW II, he graduated from U of T . He and Mary raised three sons in Kingston, where he worked as a chemical engineer and was heavily involved in community service. During his retirement, Jim enjoyed the pleasures of Southampton, world travel, and was socially active with the Royal Canadian Legion. Jim�s final years were spent at George Hees Veterans Wing. The family would like to thank the caregivers for their loving care and support. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 6 - 8 p.m., on Monday, January 17th. A service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, January 18th, at 11 o�clock with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Veterans Comfort Fund c/o Sunnybrook & Woman�s HSC Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
