Obituary of Gaskell Ian

GASKELL, Ian Millar Passed away suddenly at his cottage in the Kawarthas on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at age 89. Beloved husband of the late Nancy Gaskell (nee Jeffers). Son of the late Manfred James Gaskell and Jessie Small Gaskell (Millar). Brother of the late Eric Fleming Gaskell (Ottawa) and the late Margaret Hope Gaskell (Toronto). Beloved uncle of Roderic and Colin Gaskell. He will be sadly missed by his wife's surviving relatives and a number of valued friends. Born in Vancouver, Ian spent most of his childhood and adult years in Toronto. A graduate of Jarvis Collegiate and a WWII veteran (Army and Navy), he had a long and rewarding career with the Ontario Hydro Commission. A funeral service will be held at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), on Friday October 5th at one o'clock. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 2300 Yonge Street, Suite 1300, P.O. Box 2414 Toronto M4P 1E4 would be very much appreciated.
