When we were children we used to go to visit my grandparents Jean-Louis and Betty Dubreuil for cocktail hour. Every time we went there we would run next door to Aunt Jean and Uncle Doug's to get a sucker. They had a little wooden box hanging on the wall with painted lollipops on it and it said "Lollipops for Good Little Boys and Girls" We were never allowed to dig through it looking for the colour we wanted so it was always a surprise.
After Aunt Jean and Uncle Doug sold their cottage, the sucker box was taken over by my grandparents. Now that they are no longer on Snake Island or with us, My parents now have the sucker box. I have many fond memories of spending time with Aunt Jean on and off Snake Island, she was well loved by many and will definately be missed. Love you Aunt Jean!

As a cottage neighbor of Doug and Jean's for many years, I felt like a member of the McLeod Clan on Snake Island, Lake Simcoe. Jean was as much a party person as any of us, and oh...what fun times we all had. There are two instances in particular involving Jean that I often remember, and they always bring a laugh. She was a great friend. Jean loved life and, I'm told, lived it to the fullest right to the end. While it was often said that Jean would outlive all of her generation of the Snake Island gang, she certainly did have a long and fulfilling life. However, my mother, Joan Watson, seems to have won that award! As I write this, I'm enjoying a glass of wine. Here's to you, Jean! Tom Watson San Diego, CA

For the family, Jean was a wonderful lady and a loyal member of our society for several decades. She was an important participant of our executive and was a great help to us when we hosted the North American Clan MacLeod Gathering in Guelph in 2000. She attended our celebrations right up to the end. We have lost not only a friend but also the grand dame of our family. We shall miss her greatly. May you rest among the angels Jean.
