Sincere condolences to the family. Lorraine, I have many fond memories of our high school days at Leaside and of the wonderful laughs and conversations with "Betty". Such a wonderful lady. My parents are both gone, so I know how it feels and the loss is tremendous. I would love to reconnect with you and get caught up - please send me an email when convenient. In the meantime, you are in my thoughts and prayers. With my sincere heartfelt condolences, from Liz Upham (Downs).

Roy, Andrew and Lorraine; Deepest sympathies from Napa Valley for the loss of a great lady. I have known - and been part of - your family for 50 years, and over this time, "Muggins," as we affectionately called Betty, became a sort of second-mom to me. I loved her spirit, loved her laughter, and when she chased you, Andy, and me, around your house threatening to cudgel us with a spoon for swearing, we all - the three of us, you, me and Muggins - would end up on the sofa laughing. January 31, Muggins' birthday, has been a special day for me for nearly 50 years, too. We joked with Betty that this date was, coincidentally, "National Gorilla Suit Day," and we always toasted the double event. And I shall continue the tradition, as Muggins would want us to. That was her gift - to celebrate life and to be remembered for her relish for it. I really loved your mom, Andy and Lorraine, and her sparkly British wit. As my "second mom," she was really special. And Roy, I am sorry for your loss, as you can imagine. Much love to all of you.
