In the early 1990's, I won a trip to Horseshoe Valley Resort and I chose Dad to come with me on Thanksgiving weekend and we had a ball. We were going to our room and there was a Do Not Disturb sign on one of the doors and when we had checked in, we were told that there were Newlyweds staying at The Hotel... So...I knocked on their door very loudly and the next thing I saw was Dad running and hiding, so that no one would know, whom knocked on their door, as I had run after knocking on their door. I couldn't stop laughing so hard. Dad was so shocked that I had knocked on their door. We were there for three days and two nights and of course, I had knocked on their door on three separate occasions. Dad had had the same reaction of me knocking on their door. We had a great weekend together. Mom gave us an electric sandwich maker and we stopped in Barrie on the way, to get a toaster and we picked up bread, orange juice, butter, marmalade, eggs, bacon and we had to borrow/steal the plates and cutlery from the people that had ordered Room Service, as we had made scrambled eggs and bacon, with toast and marmalade for breakfast and you could smell our room all the way down the hall. We kept our eggs and butter etc., in the small fridge in our room. After breakfast, I returned the plates and cutlery where I found it, outside one of the rooms beside ours, down the hall from our room. Are you laughing at our story yet?! We had fun that year.

Message to the Family: It's been just over one year without Dad and I really miss him and his laugh. I am watching Wimbledon and it would have been nice to share watching it together, this year. I am certain, that you miss Dad too. I lite a candle this morning for Dad.
Love, Diane
