Obituary of Richard Fisher
FISHER, Richard Herbert "Dick"
After a full life of 84 years lived with integrity, vitality and honour, Dick passed away at home on September 29, 2007. He was married to the love of his life, Ruth (Fry), for 52 years. His fatherly influence and guidance will be remembered with deep affection and respect by sons Richard (Cathy), John (Lee) and daughter Kathryn. Devoted grampa to Alex, Katie, Christine, John, R.J., Hilary and Emily for whom he had all the time in the world to talk and share their lives. Always known as Santa to his kids, grandchildren and ever-larger family alike for whom his eyes sparkled all year long. His faithful dog Beau was always by his side. Summer weekends at the Muskoka cottage will not ring with Dick's hearty laugh and ready wit anymore. But his love of life will remain as an enduring example. As one of the first Canadians employed by State Farm Insurance, his circle of associates and friends was immense. He treated his clients as friends and leaves a legacy that will not be forgotten. Ruth, Richard, John and Kathryn with their families will receive friends at the "HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W.MILES CHAPEL", 1403 Bayview Ave. (south of Eglinton Ave. East) from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3rd. A celebration of Dick's life will be held in YORKMINSTER CITADEL, 1 Lord Seaton Road (Yonge and 401) on Thursday, October 4th at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
