Obituary of Juliette Kennedy - Murray
Juliette Marie Kennedy-Murray (nee Deziel)
May 8, 1908 - April 1, 2011
Juliette passed away peacefully, on Friday April 1, 2011 at the age of 102, after a brief illness. Beloved wife of the late Aloysius (Al) Kennedy QC, Chair of the Ontario Municipal Board 1960-1972, and of the late Jim Murray, formerly Superintendent of Group Pensions at Canada Life. Predeceased by her daughter Katherine Fleming in 2006. She will be greatly missed by her daughters Patricia Lanciault and Mary-Ann Kennedy, and by Jim Murray's children Suzanne Noonan (Bill), Robert Murray (Carol) and Lyn Callahan (Bob) and their children. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Robert (Julia), Jim (Jenny), Julie, Peter (Faye) and Brian (Nancy); her great-grandchildren Robyn (Justin), Eric, Emma, Ethan, James and Owen; and her great-great granddaughter Hannah. She lived a rich and rewarding life and was never happier than when she was entertaining family and friends, especially when they were playing cards. She was an accomplished bridge player and became an avid euchre player in her 90's. The family especially thanks the staffs at Richview Residence, where she lived for several years, and at the 921 Millwood Retirement Residence, her recent home, for their kindness and care. The sensitive and attentive care given by the Sunnybrook Hospital emergency department staff is greatly appreciated. A celebration of Juliette's life will be held in the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (South of Davisville Avenue), Toronto on Saturday, April 9 at 12:30 p.m. A service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. will be followed by a reception. If desired, donations made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.
