Obituary of Betty Layton
LAYTON, Elizabeth (Betty)
Having lived a full life, Betty passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Toronto. She was the only daughter of the late Grace and Edmerle Hewitt of Orillia and sister of the late Beverley (Harriett) Hewitt of Orillia. Beloved wife of the late Bob Layton, of over 50 years. Betty is survived by niece Sheila (Jack) Robertson of Hamilton, great-niece Andrea (Mike) Mitchell, and their children Kaysee and Sydney of Oakville, great-nephew Scott Robertson and his son Cameron of Hamilton. The family have many fond memories of their Aunt Betty. She was also remembered by dear friends, Don Knight and Angie, and Walter Freel. A special thanks to the exceptional caregivers at The Donway Retirement Residence. Betty was an active member of the Pilot Club of Scarborough and was known by many as 'The Cheese Lady." She will be missed by her Pilot friends. A service will be in the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Friday, April 1 at 11:00 a.m. Betty had asked that there be no flowers or donations but rather wished that she be remembered by a "deed of kindness."
