One day after years of meeting with Dr. Borsch, I arrived at his office to a locked door. I waited "patient"ly for about an hour because once in a while I was late or forgot an appointment, but he never did. When he didn't show up and I couldn't reach him by phone, I called the police. When they arrived they told me that a Dr. forgetting an appointment was not a police issue. It could have been, though, to me....with a childhood full of the improbable bad things that happened. Now I know the meaning of these lyrics - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLf6yNLDHLk&feature=related Forgetting an appointment was probably part of my therapy. I wish I could put a hyperlink in this posting.

I googled Dr. Borsch today, Sunday, August 21st, 2011 when I thought of him and found his Obituary. This link expresses my feelings for him - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLf6yNLDHLk As his patient, he counseled and supported me for decades. He took the place of my beloved grandfather who died when I was 4 years old by reducing the crazy making drama to something simply realistic. I have a rich Spiritual life and know that you know how much his love endures and touches all of us. So, I can't honestly say I miss him because I talk to him all the time. Love to you, Renee

I just found out about the loss of Dr. Borsch (or "Dr. B" to me). I was a patient of his. I cannot begin to say how much the work he did with me has meant to me over the years and I was so sorry when he told me he had to stop his practice due to illness. I found strength in his humour, intelligence and insight and will never forget him. One day as I came to his office, I happened to see his screen saver which was a photo of himself with parrots perched on his head. I laughed and laughed and thought how much he loved life and tried to teach the same. My thoughts go to his family and all of his patients.

Mike: I am thinking of you in these trying times and hope you have lots of support from family. I am sorry I missed the funeral and memorial service. I would have made it, but we were out of town.

dear Delores, I had hoped to get to Roman's funeral on Sunday, taking the train to Toronto on Saturday. However a flare-up of my GI symptoms made travel impossible. Although Roman and I did nor have much contact in recent years, I have many memories of our first year of training in St Thomas,1958-1959. We played on the basketball team sponsored by Tommy White's sports shop. Please convey my condolences to the children. You. Were wonderfully kind and caring to Roman, beyond the calllof duty, but true Christian charity. Ellen and I would be glad to hear from you. Paul Hoaken

Our sincere sympathy to the family. I have known Roman for many years, and he was very helpful and supportive to my interest in psychoanalysis. I had the pleasure of meeting his brother in Ukaine even before Roman was to meet him. I was so pleased that they were finally able to make a connection, and I know it meant the world to his brother, who predeceased him. Roman had a strong interest in his Ukrainian community, and had a way of asking provocative questions which were stimulating and controversial. I will miss his "check-ups" on the status of my psyche. He had a great passion for music and travel, and I am sure that the psychoanalytic community will miss him.

We are very sorry to learn of the passing of your father. Roman used to stop on our deck on his trip to the pool for a swim. We had many interesting conversations with him and he was always wanting to dig into our minds. He will be missed by all here at the condo in Orillia

I was so sorry to hear about Roman's passing.I have many happy memories about Roman going back over 50 years when we both were residents in psychiatry at the Menninger School of Psychiatry in Topeka Kansas. I remember his outgoing personality and sharing our joy of playing basketball. From his picture, that same personality shines through and will reside in the memory bank of his family.
