To the family of Charles Kerr:Condolences on the Charlie's passing. I enjoyed directing him In Two By Two where he played Noah. I still tell people of his perseverance. There was a line in the show "a brown thing " and Charlied was bound and determined that it would get a laugh. He worked it in many different ways and was pleased that it finally got that laugh-on the final performance!! He was fun to work with. There are many other memories from that show: the directors and the cast blubbering at Ester's ( Sheila Shields ) death scene, Tommy Shields, our SM leaving the backstage during that scene and many, many others. He'll be missedd

I had the great pleasure of working with Charles in the award winning production of The Desert Song at the Shaw Festival in 1982. Charles was "Dad" to all of us young rascals. Please accept my condolences on your loss.

Susan, Sandra and I extend our sincere condolences to you and Charles's family. While we all lived at Market Square on Front Street, Charlie would join Sandra and I for coffee when we would reminisce times when he and Sandra's uncles Sam and Romeo used to participate as musicians and play with visiting jazz groups and big bands in nightclubs in Gatineau on the Quebec side across the Ottawa River. Some of these jazz groups convolved Count Basie and Duke Ellington. Sandra tells me that Charlie went to visit Uncle Sam at his grocery store during one of his many visits to Ottawa to see his family.

In our lifetime we are lucky if we are surrounded by great role models, especially when we are growing up. For all of us who grew up knowing and loving Mr. Kerr, it was a great blessing. He will always be remembered as a tremendous man who had many talents and skills, but most of all just a terrific guy. My heart is with all of you for this loss.

Hello Sue. Val and I wanted to offer our condolences on your loss of your best friend. I have nothing but great memories of you and Charlie at Orpheus and OLT (we played together in My Daughter Your Son I think it was called). Most recently, we enjoyed an evening with him at a Lifers' Night Out in Ottawa during the Orpheus 100th anniversary celebrations. Please pass on our best wishes to the girls.

I had the joy of acting with Charlie at the OLT and directing him at Orpheus and in a summer theatre production of an original musical where he played an old character. He insisted on using an "old voice" until I pointed out that he couldn't speak with one voice and sing with another. Not all performers are logical. Charlie was.

My sincere sympathy to all of the Kerr family. His musical and acting talents were enjoyed by many people over the years. I know that his health had declined in recent years, but in spite of that he was still able to enjoy visits with his family. He will be missed.

To the Kerr Family- I am very sorry to hear about the loss of Mr. Kerr. He came to Ottawa and I went and saw his play at the National Arts Centre. I made my way back stage afterwards and got him brought to me to say hello. We had lots of tears, hugs and stories as he said I brought back lots of memories about Chris. It was so nice seeing him and hearing about all his accomplishments. He was a true Gentleman. I think of your family often and send my greetings. I remember Christopher and our silly teenager times in Constance Bay. A big hug is sent to you all. Sincerely Kim Zidichouski
