Obituary of Howard Russell
Peacefully on Wednesday, January 12th, 2011 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Phyllis (nee Johns) for 60 wonderful years. Dearest father of Pat and her husband, Roger Brown, cherished grandpa of Chris (Francine), Matt (Anh) and Katie, and poppa of great-granddaughter Hannah. Dear brother of Gloria and Ruth and the late Doris, Kenneth and Irene. Howard had a life-long love of music and theatre, acting in and directing Gilbert and Sullivan productions, plays, and singing in church choirs, and most recently the Serenata Singers. A kind and generous man, he will be so sadly missed, so fondly remembered. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 16. A service celebrating his life will take place in ST. MARK'S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 1 Greenland Road, Don Mills on Monday, January 17 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, memorial donations to Sleeping Children Around the World, 28 Pinehurst Crescent, Toronto M9A 3A5 or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
