THOMPSON, MARION ELIZABETH (MOLLY MACKAY) Born in Hensall, Ontario in 1915, Molly died on Wednesday, Janaury 5, 2011 in her 95th year. Predeased by her husband, the late Alexander Campbell Thompson, she is survived by her sons, Ian MacKay Thompson and Edward Gordon Thompson. "GranMolly" will be greatly missed by her sons and by her granddaughters, Anne Heine, Jean Taylor and Lisa Thompson and by her great-grandchildren, Justin and Megan Taylor and David Heine. Molly's death will be mourned be her sister-in-law Phyllis McKay, her cousin Mary McCallum, her nephew Pierre MacKay, her nieces Camilla and Alexandra MacKay and all friends and neighbours. Molly was a graduate of Normal School and taught in public schools in Windsor and Toronto, primarily as an art teacher. Molly became a talented sculptor whose works remain a lasting testament of her artistry. As a leader or participant, along with her husband Alex, she was active in the local home and school association, the Anglican Church and the Liberal Party. Most of all, she was the creator of a happy home. Bright, witty, well-informed, strong-willed and courageous to the end. The family will receive friends in the ANGLICAN CHURCH OF THE TRANSFIGURATION, 111 Manor Road East, Toronto on Wednesday, January 12 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Private interment.
