Obituary of Doris Marie Warrander
WARRANDER, Doris Marie (nee Routly)
Retired Lieutenant Colonel of The Salvation Army.Doris was commisioned in 1940 and served supervising Children's Homes in Toronto and London, Ontario; then as Administrator of the Halifax, Ottawa and Windsor Grace Hospitals. In 1977 Doris was appointed as Women's Social Services Secretary with responsibility for the Army's vast women's social work across Canada. Doris retired from this position in 1983. Doris was predeceased by her husband Lieutenant Colonel Cornelious Warrander and by her two brothers Robert and Ronald Routly of Peterborough. Doris is survived by nieces and nephews, Carole Gammon, Marion Weller, Philip Routly, Donald Harlock, Paul Harlock, Gordon Harlock, Millie Harlock and David Harlock and great-nieces and nephews. A celebration of Colonel Doris Warrander's life will be held in the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 27.
