Richard: I met your Dad more than fifty years ago, when he was a close friend with Chuck Allen. Our association was fairly frequent then and always involved fun, very loud arguing, very late nights and usually large groups. In recent years Barbara and I would bump into your Dad occasionally, and always the intervening years were no barrier to conversation. Please accept our condolences. Jim Felstiner

I just received word of Hugh's death. I am on vacation in Turkey and will not be able to attend his service Hugh was a close friend for many years. It was so sad to see such a vibrant man fail in his last years. To Richard and Hugh's brother I send my wishes of peace. Hugh will long be remembered.

I was saddened to read of Hugh's death. We were not close, but we do go back a long way We were both students in the "special class" for the second haft of elementary school at Albert School in Saskatoon. We were not special friends, but we did hang around a bit. I met him again about 1963 when I was a guest at the Donalda club and Hugh, recognizing me came over to say hello. We never met again face to face, but we did talk on the phone from time to time. At one point, while he was at the advertising agency, he helped out my company with an arrangement to place employment ads. I liked him, I was sorry not to see more of him, and I am sad he has gone. Thurston and Richard....my regrets on this news...he was a good friend and shared his love of life, his volumes of knowledge, stories and laughter and his many homes with so many of us...My daughter Laura was very fond of Hugh as were her 3 little girls who learned to swim from his dock at Lake of Bays and send their remembrances

Hi Richard, We are so sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. I was just by chance thinking about him this weekend & just learn today (Monday) of his passing. He was "one of a kind" & I have many fond memories at my fathers cottage, especially in the evenings playing, those fun games around the main cabin. There are tons more memories skiing and taking holidays together. I was glad that my husband was able to spend getting to know your dad. On behalf of our whole family, our sincere sympathy. We fondly remember a consummate advertising professional... a good friend, and a sensitive man with a love of life. Hoping sweet memories temper the hurt of the loss.
