I was so sorry to see the notice of Patricia Kemp's passing. She was my Grade 9 homeroom teacher and history teacher in 1966 (I think it was!) I believe it was her first year teaching. She was a wonderul teacher. She made a shy person like me, feel happy to speak up. She was keen on her topic. She had a relaxed manner and had the respect of the students. (I think the boys all had a crush on her.) My sincerest condolances on the passing of a wonderful woman.

Dear Tony John and I were so sorry to learn that Patricia had passed away. A friend of ours saw the obituary notice in the paper and told us. Unfortunately I no longer have an address for you so am sending our condolences on line. We are assuming that this was quite sudden and must have been very traumatic for you and the family. It is just a few short years ago that we saw Pat at Don Henry's after a high school reunion. She looked great then and we had a good visit . We didn't see a lot of each other over the years but always enjoyed visiting when we did meet. I know she will be missed by all who knew her and I hope you will find comfort in knowing that many of her old school friends will remember her too. Treasure your good memories. Sincerely Mary-Ellen

Miss Kemp was my phys ed teacher and coach in the late sixties and made a lasting impact. I went on to become a teacher and eventually Director of Education for the Rainbow District School Board. In that role, I held up my memories of Miss Kemp as a role model for others to follow. Little did she know that the messages she gave us so many years ago would impact systems across the province. Some of my 'old' Vaughan friends still get together and I know we will share 'Miss Kemp memories' for years to come. My deepest condolences to her family. Jean Hanson

Dear Tony, Wendy and I read the news of Patricia's passing with deep sadness. Nearly 40 years have passed since we were last in touch, but in our memories she is always with you as the epitome of dark-eyed vivacity, intelligence, grace, and beauty. Whether it was at Nelles House events in the early '60's or, in later years, on those rare occasions when we met during visits back in Toronto, she brought a special focus and attention to every encounter. Please accept our sincere sympathy and condolences. Sandy and Wendy Burnett

Tony and Nicole 2010 10 02 I was saddened to learn of Pat’s passing a few days ago. You probably don’t remember me as we only casually met a couple of times at Vaughan events in the 70’s. She was a good pal when I worked with Pat from 1970 until 1997 when I retired and moved to Victoria. She visited with my wife Nana and me one evening for dinner whilst touring out here. Our condolences to you and Nicole. Mike and Nana Spence Victoria BC.

Dear Kemp Family, I was just in Toronto (from Chatham) and asked a colleague at the Social Assistance Review Board/Social Benefits Tribunal, Sandra Marguerison if she had ever heard from Pat in the past. She had apparently just seen her a few weeks ago and had to tell me that she had just heard that morning of Pat's passing. I met Pat way back in 1998 when I first joined the Board. I remember well her sense of humour and love of work and life. She had a great soul and smile that will live on in our hearts forever. My sympathies to the whole family. Sincerely, Audrey Hummelen

Patricia came into our lives through our son's marriage to Nicole. We got to know a lady whose genuine joy and zest for life was infectious. This is truly a shocking loss for all those family and friends to whom she was so special. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother and her success at that is so evident in the love that Owen and Emry have for her. We so enjoyed exchanging "Grandparent" experiences and plotting how we could spoil those children. Her great love for them will carry on through all of us. Her presence will always be with them....supporting, smiling, loving. We will miss you Patricia. Thank you for your many kindnesses and for bringing us into your family With love....The Walter and Della Pasqua Families
