NORTHGRAVE, Glen Allen B.A. (Lt. CDR RCNVR Retired) 1917 - 2010 Last surviving member of the family of Walter T. and Ada Northgrave, loving and devoted husband of the late Nancy Stodart who he lost in 1991 after 33 years of happy marriage, father of Nancy Cameron Northgrave, most admiring brother-in-law of Derek Stodart of Toronto. Predeceased by brother Walter in 1980 and sisters Nancy in 1990 and Ella 1997. Glen graduated from Upper Canada College and Trinity College University of Toronto in 1940. He leaves nephews: Terry, Brian and Paul Northgrave, Tim and George Trow, John Pollock, Andrew and Bruce Stodart and nieces: Andrea Wainwright (nee Northgrave), Victoria Pollock, Alexandra Correa, Nancy Kennedy (nee Stodart) and Lesley Jane Dodd (nee Stodart). All much beloved. Glen served in the RCNVR for 5 years (1940-1945). He was mentioned in dispatches for service at Dieppe and served in Corvettes on convoy duty (1943-1945). He was a founding member of the Canadian Raleightes (1960). A group of Canadians who volunteered for Naval service and were sent overseas to train as seamen and prospective officers. He was blessed with many friends who made his life very rich by his association with them. He had a very happy life. He was a dedicated member of Eglinton United Church in Toronto for over 60 years where he also had a great many friends and supporters. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 12 noon until the time of service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 27 followed by a reception in the Rosedale Room of the funeral home.
