Obituary of Marjorie Green
Alice Marjorie Green 1913-2010
Passed away peacefully and with dignity into the hands of her Lord on Monday, September 13th, 2010 at the Toronto East General Hospital. Alice was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, the daughter of Walter and Ann Parr and grew up in Winnipeg. In 1938 she married Nelson Green and shortly after moved to Thunder Bay where she had two sons, Lex and Jeff. After the passing of Nelson in 1973 Alice moved permanently to Toronto to be near her family. Alice is survived by a loving and devoted family who cherished her presence and loved her company: Lex (Joan) and Jeff (Katherine); grandchildren Samantha (David) of Montreal, Kristofer (Carrie) of New York, Sara (John) of Toronto and Matthew (Taylor) of Toronto; and great-grandchildren Taric, Kai, William, Thomas and Fiona. Alice was a great lover of music and involved sportsperson who played golf, lawn bowling, and curling. She was a loyal supporter and volunteer for the CNIB for many years. Her spirit for life and dedication and loyalty to her friends and family will be missed. Many thanks from our family to the caregivers at the Leaside Retirement Centre for their kindness and consideration to Alice over the years. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19th. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday, September 20 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. Private interment in Mountain View Cemetery, Thunder Bay. If desired, the family requests charitable donations be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 1929 Bayview Avenue, Toronto M4G 3E8.
