Obituary of Pey Lih Sun

SUN, Pey Lih May 8, 1948 - August 31, 2010 Beloved wife and mother Peh Lih passed away peacefully in her 63rd year. Born in Shanghai, she grew up in Hong Kong before going to Taiwan for university and then to North America to earn Masters degrees in Psychology and Botany. Always living life with great passion and presence, she loved seeing the world, trying new and interesting foods, and she really loved plants (with her famous green thumb!). Most of all, she will be remembered as being a positive influence in people's lives, both in her career as a teacher and counselor, and particularly as a devoted mom, wife, sister, daughter and friend. The experience of living with ALS over the past 10 years could not diminish her life force and strength of spirit. She was supported over the ten years of her illness, particularly by her devoted husband who never missed a single day of caring and being with her. The family is forever grateful for the caring and kindness of the ICU and 3B staff at the Scarborough Grace Hospital. Pey Lih has left her 'mark' on the world and will never be forgotten. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her husband, Dr. Mian Shin Sun, son Jeffrey Sun, brothers Pey Lin, Pey Chyou and Pey Yu, sisters-in-law, her nephews, nieces, and many friends. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m on Saturday, September 11. A service will be held in the chapel at 3 o'clock on Sunday, September 12. If desired, donations to the Covenant House, the ALS Society of Canada or the Scarborough Grace Hospital would be appreciated. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
