David, my heart is heavy with sadness at the loss of your Dad. I just learned today (Sept 16) about Norm. Your Dad and mine (George Green) were good friends and spent many hours at the piano together. Norm was a great inspiration to me and gave me my first break in the industry and I will forever be grateful for his guidance. He opened the door to my future. He will always have a place in my heart. I think of you and Nancy often and hope that your memories will bring you comfort. Ken Green

Norm Esch's passing is definitely an end to an era. Norm was a major presence in Canada's graphic arts community. Going through back issues of PrintAction magazine, his presence is seen through the decades, late 60', 70's and 80's. A friend of my late father, John Young, who was the original publisher of PrintAction, I am sure that the two gentlemen shared many rye and ginger's over the years. Like Nick Howard, I will toast Norm's passing. Sara Young- Publisher PrintAction magazine.

To the family of Mr. Norm Esch. I wish to express my deep sadness in learning of Norm's passing. I fist met Norm in 1978 at Graphic Litho Plate. Then again at Phipps Reproductions in 1980. He was a wonderful man to me,very kind and tolerant to a young guy just starting out. For it was with Norm and his partner, Dave Zilli that I sold my first large machine. Norm was an inspiration for me and a man that I have never forgotton. I shall make one of Norm's large "Rye & Gingers" tonight as I salute a true gentleman, honest, kind and fair. Nick Howard
